1 John 5:20 ESV

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

How wonderful it is to know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding. He gave us understanding so that we may know him who is true. The understanding that we have of him that is true comes from the Bible. When we read the Bible or listen to a sermon from the Bible, the Holy Spirit helps us to understand the spiritual truths contained in God’s word (the Bible).

What is even more wonderful is that we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. As Christians, we are in him who is true. When we accept Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior and are baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we are then in him.

Jesus said that when you see Him, you see the Father. When you know Him, you know the Father. This is the true God and eternal life. Jesus told us that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one may come to the Father but by Him. Jesus is not a way to the Father he is the only way.

When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have eternal life. We have his word on that. Have you trusted Christ as your Lord and Savior? If you have not, today is the day of salvation.
