True Freedom- John 8:31-32 (ESV)

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Everyone wants to be free. But what is true freedom? Jesus said that if you abide in His word you are truly His disciples. He further stated that then you would know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

True freedom comes from being a disciple of Christ. Disciples know Him who is the truth. Jesus said in John 14:6- “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. To know Christ is to know the truth, and to know the truth is to be able to enjoy true freedom.

Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin and the penalty for sin. In Him is true freedom. Do you seek for freedom today? True freedom is available to you this day. All you need do is come to Christ. Confess Him as your Lord and Savior, and ask Him to forgive you of your sins. He has promised to do it.

Jesus can give you true freedom. Not the freedom some people think they have, but true and genuine everlasting freedom. Freedom that cannot be taken away. Freedom that will last for all eternity.

If you have not yet trusted Christ as your Lord and Savior, do so today. Then you can experience the true freedom that is only available in Him.
